Have you taken a walk through the Point lately?
You might have noticed the vibrant new additions gracing the area.
Thanks to the fabulous Emily from Groundwork, UK, the Melville Placemaker project has brought in beautiful new plants and flowers, including a few edible varieties.

Last Friday 21st, residents spent the morning planting the new flower beds in the Point. We scattered cheerful flowers throughout the beds, a new rose tree, and some blueberries and mint.
The addition of plants, flowers, and window boxes you might notice dotted around are a preview of what’s to come as part of this project.
The project is making a vibrant visual change in the area little by little and presents an opportunity to spend time outdoors and boost your sense of wellbeing.
If you want to test the waters, why not head to the Point during Gin O’clock?
The watering sessions happen every non-raining day at 18:30 when nearby residents meet to care for the plants equipped with watering cans.
You don’t have to drink gin to participate; any preferred beverage is welcome. Just bring a watering can and your enthusiasm for the outdoors. It’s a nice way to catch up quickly and take care of our beautiful new space.
We want to emphasize all the hard work put into making the Point look nice.
It is necessary to keep it clean and tidy. As a community, we should be mindful of disposing of waste properly and cleaning up after ourselves. If you see any litter, take a moment to pick it up. Let’s keep the neighbourhood cleaner and nicer for everyone to enjoy and appreciate.
