We are thrilled to have not only been considered for this prestigious award but to have secured it for the second year in a row.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our green-thumbed community members, who have tirelessly worked to enhance our surroundings through planting, cleanup efforts, and vibrant mural installation.
The mural is a topic of mixed opinions, but undeniably adds a splash of colour to our lives, especially during gloomy, rainy, and grey days. It serves as a pleasant focal point, with many residents appreciating its aesthetic value compared to the blank canvas it replaced.
This year, we proudly received an outstanding award for our summer initiatives at The Point.
This success is part of the larger placemaking project, with funding allocated through Groundwork UK.
Our shared vision is to transform our area, making it more appealing to both residents and visitors. This transformation is no small feat, especially considering the abundance of limestone in our locality.
Throughout the summer, our community members joined forces with Emily, our point of contact at Groundwork, to revitalize The Point area.
We worked diligently to clean up the space, introduce new flower beds, and ensure they thrived through consistent care and watering.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us achieve our goals. We know many of you were watering the plants on days we were unable to get down to The Point, and collectively, we could not do this without you.
So, the question is, what shall we do next to bag a Bloom award in 2024?
