Summer Days at Torquay Library
Join at Torquay! This is a great opportunity to create a buzz for reading and libraries. To complete this all-new Quest this year, your child can visit the library as many times as they like over Summer, read the books they love, and complete 1 or more Summer Book Quest activities. Activities include drawing sea creatures, beach cleans, comic strip creation, visiting a lifeboat station, a lighthouse or an aquarium, and many more to choose from.
Along the way, your child receives a starter pack, stickers, pencils, a certificate and a ninja starfish keyring, plus the chance to win a number of amazing prizes such as free fish and chips, free passes to local attractions like Babbacombe Model Village and a giant Stitch soft toy.
The Quest is on all Summer and closes on Saturday, 6th September. Latecomers can still grab final certificates and keyrings up until and including Saturday, 13th September.
Crazy Golf
Crazy golf is on every Saturday over Summer and just 50p a go, this includes a scorecard and the chance to win a Harry Potter Board Game.
This year’s theme is children’s books, so expect to see some favourite characters and book references such as the Shark in the Park, the Mr Men, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and the Hungry Caterpillar. No need to book, just turn up and tee up!!
Summer Stay and Play:
Stay and Play is on every day and is different every week, starting with a creative corner including art materials, octopus crafts and soon a selection of ocean-related sensory toys is coming out! Free and no need to book. A nice way to pass some time on your way into town.
Friendship Bracelet Making Workshop: Wednesday 13th August 10:30-11:30am
Make beaded bracelets and add your name if you like with our lovely Hazel.
£2 per person, book in advance
Sculpture Workshop: Wednesday 6th August 10:30-11:30am
All ages can take part in this fun workshop with artist Peter Margerum to create sculptures using recycled materials. Keep your sculpture, too!
£2.50 per person and materials are included. Please book in advance.
Book Quest Finishers Day
Anyone taking part in the Summer Book Quest can come along to the Finishers Day.
Wednesday 27th August 10:30am-4pm – drop in anytime within this and just enjoy some time out.
Free event, grab your last stickers, your certificate and Ninja Starfish Keyring, and why not take part in some junk modelling at the same time.
Free event for all Questers, not taken part in the Quest, then join at the counter and you can do some junk modelling too. The Quest ends on 13th September, so plenty of time to enjoy the new Quest and grab all the freebies.
