Hello Melville!
Have you seen our latest community gardening action at The Point?
As many of you know, this area quickly can get a bit neglected, with overgrown weeds and, unfortunately, some dogs using the space as a litter tray!
But thanks to the dedication and hard work of residents, we’ve given The Point a much-needed makeover!
Last month our small team of volunteers made up of residents rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
We tackled the overgrown weeds, cleaned up the litter, and used some of our community budget to bring in new flowers. The transformation is truly something we are proud of!
What made this project even more special was the fantastic sense of community spirit we experienced.
Other residents passing by stopped to lend a hand, bringing along gardening tools, gloves, and watering cans. Even builders working on the street helped us water the plants.
It was heartwarming to see so many people come together for a common goal—to create a space that everyone can enjoy.
We hope that our hard work and the improvements we’ve made will inspire a greater appreciation and care for this space. It’s about coming together as a community and making our neighbourhood a better place for all.
We’re also excited as we will be attending the Britain in Bloom Awards on Monday, October 14th. Wish us luck. If you would like to attend, please send us a message via the Facebook Group to arrange.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project. Your support and enthusiasm make all the difference. Let’s continue to work together and keep The Point—and all of Melville—looking its best.
