June Events for Adults at Your Library
This June, we’re delighted to offer a range of welcoming and engaging events for adults—whether you’re looking to learn something new, enjoy a good book, or simply connect with others in the community. From creative groups to author talks and local history, there’s something for everyone.
🧶 Purls of Wisdom: Knitting Group
Looking for a relaxed and friendly space to knit, chat, and unwind? Purls of Wisdom is an informal knitting group open to adults of all abilities. Beginners are very welcome—Doreen will happily teach you how to knit or help you with an ongoing project. The group is warm, supportive, and pressure‑free.
There’s no need to attend every week—just come along whenever it suits you.
Every Monday | 2.00–3.00pm
Free | No booking required
📖 Torquay Book Club
Join our friendly and informal book club, where there’s no fixed reading list. Instead of working through the same book each month, members choose their own title based on a shared theme. It’s a great way to discover new reads and enjoy relaxed discussions with fellow book lovers.
Free | No booking required – just come along
🏛️ Local History Group
Interested in local history or keen to get involved in community heritage projects? Our Local History Group meets monthly to share personal research, develop displays, and arrange visits to local heritage sites. It’s an ideal group for anyone curious about the past of our area—no prior experience needed.
Saturday 20 June | 10.00am–12.00 noon
Free | No booking required
We look forward to welcoming you to the library this June. If you’d like more information about any of these events or help joining the library, please speak to a member of staff or visit our website.
