Torquay Library Easter Events & Updates

The lovely Sarah from Torquay Library has kindly shared a fantastic list of events coming up for Easter and beyond. There’s something for everyone, especially children, so if you’re at a loose end over the Easter holidays, why not check out what’s on? Have a look at the list below, and feel free to join in!

Bunny Tails and Trails 

Wednesday 9th April 10:30-11:30 

An Easter event at Torquay Library with Grace from Torre Abbey with stories, activities and much bunny fun!

£2 per child. Book at the library.

The Story of Sir Humphry Davy and his lamp!

Thursday 10th April 10:30-11:30

Join author Jennifer Davy in this fun and interactive storytime session. Discover all about mining, gases and Jennifer’s ancestor; Sir Humphry Davy’s crucial invention of the safety lamp. Suitable for ages 5 years and up. Tickets £2 per child. Adults are also welcome!

Murder Whodunnit – Double Elephant print workshop

Saturday 12th April first workshop 11:00-12:30 second workshop 13:00-14:30

Family-friendly event to celebrate the unveiling of the new Agatha Christie statue. This will be an opportunity to create a picture that reflects one of Agatha’s great murder mysteries in the form of printing.

2 workshops are on offer, one at 11 and the second at 13:00

Tickets are £3 each for 1 workshop – book via Eventbrite or through Torquay Library.

Be More Bernard! Storytelling and Crafts

Wednesday 16th April 10:30-11:30

Bernard has decided that he’s not going to be like all the other bunnies any more…. Hop on down and be you at this story and craft event and make Easter special.

Suitable for children 3 years and up. Tickets £2 per child, book in advance at Torquay Library.

Celebrate 100 years of Torquay’s children’s Library services with esteemed local picture book author Clare Helen Welsh.

Wednesday 30th April 16:00-17:00

Author Clare Helen Welsh will help us launch our 100-year celebrations by reading her fantastic book “The Space Between”, there will be a draw-a-long too and the chance to make a moving butterfly craft plus take part in a group activity to create supersize butterfly wings which will then provide an ideal photo opportunity as everyone gets to try them on!

What better way to get Spring and the 100-year celebrations underway?

Suitable for children 3+ Tickets £2.50 per child

Also on over Easter is the Peter Rabbit trail at Torquay Library.

Grab a leaflet when you are there – it is free to take part, and everyone who completes the entry can be in with a chance to win a giant Easter basket, including a Peter Rabbit soft toy. This prize is on display at Torquay Library.
