Sound Healing for Relaxation, Grounding and Positive Change

Sound Healing for Relaxation, Grounding and Positive Change

In this session, we were joined once again by Darcy Sophia Holistic for an introduction to sound healing and the intention behind a sound bath experience.

Darcy, an intuitive sound therapy practitioner, shared how she has worked with sound from a young age and how it has supported her own wellbeing journey. She explained how sound therapy sessions are often guided by the energy of the group, with instruments such as the drum creating deep vibrations that can support grounding, relaxation and emotional release.

During a sound bath, many people experience a deeply relaxed state as the body begins to slow down and the nervous system has space to reset. Some people may simply feel calm and rested, while others might notice sensations, colours, memories or emotions rising to the surface. Every experience is different, and participants are gently encouraged to stay open, listen to their body and allow the session to unfold in the way they need.

This session was part of the Melville Communities Smoking Cessation and Healthy Living Programme, funded by Torbay Council’s Smoking Cessation Group, supporting people on their journey towards better health and wellbeing.
